San Diego Fashion Week 2009

After almost a year of escalading suspense, the inaugural Fashion Week San Diego announces a slew of buzz-worthy event and designer details laced with enough excitement to make us shake in our stilettos - even at four months away. But, who's counting? Although various San Diego hotels and malls longed to host the first ever Fashion Week in San Diego, the main fashion shows and events will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. While a county-wide lineup of boutiques, businesses, and night clubs will present daily style-centric forums, shopping events, and after-parties, the posh downtown Sheraton will house the runway essence of Fashion Week in a permanent tent that holds more than 3, 000 people. Fashion Week San Diego is the first ever bi-national fashion week, honing in on the unique trends and innovations of Southern California as portrayed through the styles of designers from both the United States and Mexico. In honor of San Diego's intimate relations with Mexico, Fashion Week San Diego is proud to present a runway lineup truly representative of our thriving bi-national culture. San Diego Fashion Week will also incorporate socially conscious elements of style. The week-long event will feature designers with sustainable, recycled, philanthropic, and plus-sized lines, and the event as a whole will benefit the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation.
